Indigestion Relief Natural Ways

You may find that your favorite foods are delicious. You may experience indigestion when you consume these foods too quickly or in excess.

Indigestion can be characterized by an uncomfortable feeling of abdominal fullness after a meal, or by pain in the upper abdomen. Indigestion can be a sign of a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, such as gastritis or acid reflux, rather than indigestion being ill in and itself.

Indigestion is something that will affect many people at some point. If you want to calm your stomach, try using the foods and herbs that are already in your home to control symptoms.

Try Peppermint tea

Peppermint can be used to treat stomach problems like nausea and indigestion. Its antispasmodic effects on the body are responsible for this. To settle your stomach immediately after eating, drink a cup Peppermint Tea or keep some peppermint candy in your pocket.

Peppermint may help ease indigestion but it is not recommended for acid reflux. Peppermint can relax the lower esophageal muscle, which separates the stomach and esophagus. This could increase acid reflux if stomach acid flows back into the esophagus. Peppermint tea is not recommended for people with GERD and ulcers.

Consider Adding Ginger

Ginger is a natural remedy for indigestion because it lowers stomach acid. Indigestion can also be caused by too much stomach acid, just as it is with too little.

Sip ginger tea as often as you need to in order to soothe your stomach and get rid of indigestion. Make your own ginger tea by boiling 4 cups of water and adding one or two pieces ginger root. Add honey or lemon to the ginger water before drinking. You can also drink ginger ale or chew on ginger candies.

Limit your ginger intake to 3-4 grams per day. A diet high in ginger can cause heartburn, indigestion and throat irritation.

Drink Lemon Water

The alkaline qualities of lemon water help digestion by neutralizing acid in the stomach. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice before eating to a mug of hot or tepid liquid.

Lemon water contains vitamin C, which is good for digestion. A lot of lemon water can erode the tooth enamel, and cause an increase in urine. Rinse your mouth after drinking lemon water with water to protect teeth.

Summary

Constant indigestion is not necessary. You don’t need to live with stomach discomfort. If you are experiencing symptoms that concern you, consult a physician.
