10 Favourite Soup Recipes for Soup Month

January is Soup Month, so what better time to share 10 favourite alive soup recipes?

Fog, rain, snow, wind—the weather outside has us craving soul-warming comfort food this time of year. And since we’re following alive’s 12 Months of Wellness, we want something healthy too. The perfect mix: soup! And since January also happens to be Soup Month, what better time to share 10 favourite alive soup recipes?

Mustard Greens, Beans, and Potato Soup
This hearty soup makes use of cold-weather veggies such as beans and potatoes, as well as turkey sausage.

Nourishing Noodle Soup
Fighting a cold or the flu? Chicken noodle soup is just what the doctor—and mom—ordered.

Carrot Ginger Soup
This spicy soup will warm you from the inside out.

Wonton Soup
Feeling a bit adventurous? Make your own wonton soup, guaranteed to be healthy and full-bodied in flavour.

Kakavia
This is a traditional Greek seafood soup that incorporates shrimp, garlic, and tomatoes. Yum!

Lentil and Potato Soup
This vegetarian classic can be served with a dollop of sour cream for an added boost of flavour.

Curried Cabbage Soup
The old-fashioned taste of cabbage blends with Indian curry and chickpeas for an unexpected twist that’s super addictive.

Green Monster Soup
Get all your daily greens in one go! This soup also freezes well, so you can make it on the weekend and heat it up for a quick weekday meal.

Roasted Butternut Lentil Soup
Squash soup is one of my personal favourites. Feel free to mix and match with different squash varieties.

Sweet and Sour Tomato Mussel Soup
Mussels are inexpensive and easy to prepare—plus, they’re packed with nutrients such as selenium and vitamin B12.
